Cinco deditos pequeños se quedan mirando hacia el cielo,
desnudos sobre la acera los piecitos en el suelo.
Los ojos grandes y oscuros, insondable la mirada,
que se abren a la pobreza que se desliza callada.
Apenas llega a la mesa su cabecita encrespada,
y su cuerpito delgado es como una bofetada.
Algunos no quieren verlo y pasan como si nada.
¿Dónde quedaron tus sueños, que le hicimos a tu infancia?
Un mañana que se quiebra corriendo por la calzada.

Five little fingers stare up at the sky,
bare feet on the pavement on the pavement.
The big dark eyes, the unfathomable look,
that open to the poverty that slips cayada.
His curled little head barely reaches the table,
and her thin little body is like a slap.
Some do not want to see it and pass as if nothing.
Where were your dreams, what did we do to your childhood?
A morning that breaks running down the road.
